The company uses high-quality ingredients,\u00a0including proteins and produce, as well as\u00a0sustainably sourced seafood.\u00a0Their produce is\u00a0USDA-certified organic, and select recipes are also\u00a0Clean Label Project\u00a0certified.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We love that Green Chef offers a box size suitable for three through eight meals for two, four, or six people, which is great for families.\u00a0But\u00a0is it tasty? Read on for our tester Kate\u2019s full review.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>What We Liked\u00a0\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s\u00a0what\u00a0Kate\u00a0rated highly after trying Green Chef:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Kate said it was super easy to order online. \u201cGreen Chef\u00a0had over 40 different meals I could pick for the week, and I could specify by the type of food I wanted,\u00a0so it could be low-calorie, gluten-free, Mediterranean, fiber-smart, low-sugar, etc. You can easily skip meals as soon as you log in. The UX of the website was great as well and super easy to navigate,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Kate made Green Chef\u2019s shrimp scampi and shared it with two other people. All three \u201creally liked it\u201d and would eat this meal again in a heartbeat.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cEverything\u00a0tasted so good and fresh,\u201d Kate said. \u201cIt\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0taste pre-packaged, and the presentation of the food was\u00a0really good\u00a0as well. The meal we made had\u00a0great quality\u00a0ingredients.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Green Chef\u00a0seems to have\u00a0variety and\u00a0different ways\u00a0to spice up the same kinds of meat, per Kate. \u201cThe brand\u00a0mainly seems\u00a0to use chicken, shrimp, and salmon for most of their meals.\u00a0They do have a few beef and steak\u00a0options,\u00a0but they are\u00a0additional\u00a0charges which may turn people off.\u00a0I think it\u00a0has good options!\u201d Kate said.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Kate was pleased with the\u00a0different types\u00a0of meal plans offered by Green Chef. \u201cYou can pick between dairy-free, gluten-free, keto, GLP-1,\u00a0and more,\u201d she said. \u201cThere are even more than four meal plans! Since you make the meals yourself, you can remove ingredients if you have allergies, but I\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0think you can take them off the meal itself when you order it. Everything is also packaged separately, so\u00a0ingredients\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0touching!\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Kate would describe Green Chef\u2019s sustainability as \u201crockstar,\u201d\u00a0noting:\u00a0\u201cThe brand has a whole page on their website dedicated to their sustainability efforts.\u00a0Green Chef\u00a0sources\u00a0100% renewable electricity for\u00a0their\u00a0production sites and\u00a0offices. They offset 100% of\u00a0their\u00a0delivery emissions and 100% of the plastic in each box and\u00a0have\u00a0proudly partnered\u00a0with the\u00a0Plastic Bank\u00a0community for\u00a0five\u00a0years.\u00a0This group has\u00a0extracted over\u00a05.75M pounds\u00a0of ocean-bound plastic, with an impact on over 400\u00a0communities.\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What We Would Change\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s\u00a0what\u00a0Kate\u00a0would improve about Green Chef:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>While\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0cheaper per serving if you order more meals, that may end up costing you more\u00a0in the long run. The average price of Green Chef meals is $11.99\u00a0to\u00a013.99.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0not the most expensive on our list, but\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0certainly not the most affordable, either.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Kate noted that the instructions were simple and plainly written, but the meal\u00a0took\u00a0longer to make than the 35 minutes the recipe said it would take. \u201cThis is more meant for people who enjoy cooking or really want to start,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Kate said the meal, though meant for two people, would be better for just one person. \u201cAs someone who\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0trying to bulk up, it still\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0enough for a second meal when I was done eating it. I think if a couple\u00a0were\u00a0really trying to cut down on their food\u00a0intake,\u00a0this would be a better choice.
