James made the logic explicit in his own announcement on X: \u201cI\u2019m not going for money. I\u2019m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I still want to sacrifice. None of that volume, in the end, was on Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Just before James made the announcement Friday morning, users of Kalshi gave Philadelphia an 8.7% chance of being James\u2019 next home. The prediction, which carried a volume of over $227 million just 20 minutes after James\u2019 tweet, gave Miami at 48.8% odds. After James\u2019 tweet, Philadelphia saw over a 90-point surge and landed at 99%. Miami and Golden State, the two next-closest contenders, have both cratered to under 1%.<\/p>\n
