The IPO reboot seems to have the greatest effect in year-over-year change: the six listings the year before raised just $20 million.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/crosscountrymovingteams.com\/?p=5062\">Over a third of employers handed out \u2018peanut butter raises\u2019 this year\u2014now, a quarter of bosses admit they\u2019re losing top talent because of bad pay<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe achieved a milestone year, delivering our highest ever full year revenue and earnings,\u201d Daniel Koh, the CFO of SGX, said during a results briefing on Aug 6. \u201cThis strong performance was built on structural market changes and focused execution.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>At the heart of SGX\u2019s refresh is a dual listing partnership with U.S. stock exchange Nasdaq, which allows companies to simultaneously raise capital on both exchanges using a single set of offering documents. The new platform, called the Global Listing Board (GLB), went live on June 29, after a bill establishing the framework for dual-listing arrangements was passed in Singapore\u2019s parliament.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Global Listing Board is now operationally ready,\u201d Pol de Win, SGX\u2019s head of global sales and origination said during the results briefing. \u201cA number of companies have started preparations to list on it, and we hope that translates into actual listings in the remainder of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So far, no firms have confirmed plans to list on the GLB, though data center operator DayOne and Singtel-backed Nxera were reportedly mulling over a dual IPO in the U.S. and Singapore. \u201cThe dual listing substantially reduces the friction for companies which want to access global capital,\u201d Boon Chye Loh, SGX\u2019s CEO, explained. \u201cIn particular, our focus is on high-growth companies with a nexus to Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aside from looking to reignite investor activity, SGX has also worked to diversify its asset portfolio. Kathy Hochul\u2019s about to find out, all thanks to the pied-\u00e0-terre tax rollout<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve launched five Asian government bond contracts; they\u2019re fairly unique and we hope to grow them,\u201d Michael Syn, SGX\u2019s president, said during the results briefing, adding that the bourse was also getting \u201cquite significantly sucked\u201d into the Japanese interest rate market. \u201cWe launched 20-year Japanese Government Bonds and short-term Japanese interest rates, since Japan is back in a very large and idiosyncratic way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Singapore Exchange is also expanding into what Syn describes as \u201cphysically-linked derivatives\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>As part of Singapore\u2019s goal to become a gold trading hub, the SGX is looking to establish an over-the-counter gold clearing system for physical gold stored in the country.
