The lawsuit accuses the BBC of \u201csplicing together two entirely separate parts of President Trump\u2019s speech\u201d to \u201cintentionally misrepresent the meaning of what President Trump said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It added that the editing was \u201ca brazen attempt to interfere in and influence\u201d the 2024 U.S. presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>The BBC has\u00a0apologized to Trump\u00a0for the misleading edit, but said it had not defamed him.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The latest court filing said that Trump\u2019s family members had knowledge of issues that were relevant to Trump\u2019s argument \u201cthat it would be materially false to imply that he incited violence\u201d on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It cited that Donald Trump, Jr. and Ivanka Trump were both present in the Oval Office when Trump was still revising his speech, adding that Donald Trump, Jr. spoke directly with his father after violence had broken out at the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/crosscountrymovingteams.com\/?p=5410\">Berkshire Hathaway buys more homebuilder stocks but slashes stakes in banks and dumps all its holdings in alcoholic beverage maker<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The filing says the BBC asked Trump to accept the subpoenas on his daughter and son-in-law\u2019s behalf or to direct the Secret Service to allow the subpoenas to be served, but he refused. The broadcaster asked the court to allow the subpoenas to be served by email and certified mail.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The judge has given Trump\u2019s legal team until Friday to respond to the BBC\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Trump\u2019s legal team said that \u201cthe BBC is simply trying to distract away from their own obvious liability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe BBC intentionally defamed President Donald J.
