The 72-year-old added that his wife sent him to the store to buy some essentials, including batteries, butter, paper towels, and OxiClean laundry spray. But O\u2019Leary wasn\u2019t about to waste the opportunity to hunt for a saved buck.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Leary, who owns multimillion-dollar homes in Florida, Massachusetts, and Toronto, has made the point to shop at Walmart on numerous occasions\u2014long arguing that there\u2019s no reason to pay more for everyday essentials when a cheaper option will do.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Plus, as O\u2019Leary sees it, there\u2019s no guarantee the money you spend today will still be there when you need it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hate wasting money,\u201d O\u2019Leary told CNBC<\/em> in 2021 after a Walmart run went viral. \u201cI just don\u2019t get why you would do that. It\u2019s so hard to make it in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n
